KÝKLOSDÉNDRON Timber Stool

2022

Milan, Italy

with Boito Sarno Architects

At Milan Design Week, we launched KÝKLOSDÉNDRON (tree cycle) stool, our first venture into product design. It is a simple timber construction, inspired by Japanese carpentry and the stools that carpenters traditionally make for themselves to sit on whilst they work. The stools are modular and very sculptural. During Design Week, we experimented with creating a series of totems by combining two KÝKLOSDÉNDRON stools in different interlocked positions. A huge thank you to Tetti Stalletti for manufacturing the stools with their engineered wood techniques and machinery normally used for the structural elements of roofs. Another huge thank you to photographer Alberto Bortoluzzi (https://www.albertobortoluzzi.com/pagine/home.html) for his photography art direction.
